Allie Renzi, MA Clinical Sport Psychology Consultant

Allie Renzi, MA is a Mental Health Counselor and Clinical Sport Psychology Consultant, she is also a certified Yoga and Meditation Teacher, and Personal Trainer. She received her Bachelor’s and Master’s Degree from Boston University, where she competed on the Division 1 Field Hockey team for 4 years. She is passionate about helping athletes and high performers develop the skills to not only survive under the demands of high performance, but to thrive. Allie believes in incorporating the mind and body in her practice and blends psychology and neuroscience, guiding clients to harness the power of the nervous system through progressive muscle relaxation (PMR), autogenic training, breathing exercises, yoga, attention training, meditation, and visualization to help you find the approach that works best for you and your success.

During her time as an athlete Allie became acutely aware of the unrealistic expectations of perfection that were pushed onto athletes. She watched this pressure negatively affect relationships, body image, self-worth and overall wellbeing which inevitably lead to a decline in performance. Witnessing these experiences motivated Allie to earn her Master’s in Counseling and Sport Psychology focusing on eating disorder treatment so that she could help athletes fortify their self-image, and implement healthy mechanisms for managing stress, and negative thoughts and emotions. Allie previously worked at Monte Nido, a residential eating disorder treatment center, where she developed and facilitated groups incorporating Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Mindfulness and Meditation, Dialectical Behavior Therapy, and more. Allie is also a Clinician at Walden Behavioral Care where she works with athletes and individuals struggling with eating disorders.

Allie has worked at top universities like Tufts, Boston University, and Bryant creating and facilitating team sport psychology workshops, curating yoga and meditation experiences, and working with individual athletes and coaches. Allie is motivated by her success in helping individuals and teams achieve what they once thought was not achievable both in sport and in life.
